It just made me feel so hopeless. Like I was never going to be normal.

Sophia Quinn is the daughter of Robert and Jill Quinn and the paternal younger half-sister of Callie Adams Foster. She first appeared in Things Unknown.

Immediately after meeting Callie, Sophia grows attached to her and begins to express to her parents how she wants them to adopt Callie so they can be a family. She takes action to make this dream a reality, angering Callie, and their subsequent fight sheds light on Sophia's suicidal feelings. In later episodes, Sophia is diagnosed with a personality disorder and entered into a mental health program, where she begins making positive progress.

Sophia is portrayed by Bailee Madison.

Physical Appearance[]

Sophia has fair skin, wavy brown hair, and brown eyes. She bears a striking resemblance to her half-sister, Callie. Sophia's fashion style is expensive and girly, consisting of skirts, blouses, dresses, and tights. She wears a lot of bright-colored clothing, such as pinks, yellows, purples, and blues.

Personality[]

At first glance, Sophia appears to be an open-minded, opinionated, outgoing, cheerful and bubbly young girl. She is excited to get to know Jude and Callie and especially delighted at the prospect of having a sister.

As Sophia appears more frequently, she is seen to have suicidal tendencies closely linked to the desperate need for Callie's approval she develops almost immediately after meeting Callie and even after simply learning of her existence. These are demonstrated in Someone's Little Sister, when Sophia appears to attempt to drown herself after Callie calls her "a spoiled brat," and appear again again in Over Under, when Sophia responds to Callie's refusal to forgive her for sabotaging Callie's adoption process by threatening to kill herself and immediately turning around to walk straight into traffic.

She is unharmed by the incident but causes two cars to get into an accident to avoid hitting her. Sophia originally tells her parents she walked into traffic accidentally, but Callie tells them the truth, leading Sophia to admit to her suicidal thoughts and devastating her parents. In Light of Day, she is mentioned to be in a mental health facility and is believed by the doctors to have a personality disorder. Sophia returns home in the Season 2 finale, where she reveals she is feeling good again but has insecurities regarding her mental disorder.
