Nicole Maines is an American actress. She portrays Liza Davis in Freeform's, Good Trouble.
Early Life[]
Nicole was born in Gloversville, New York, and grew up in Portland, Maine. She was assigned male at birth and from a young age, expressed a desire to be a girl. In 2007, she was the anonymous 5th grader in the Doe v. Regional School Unit 26 legal case after being banned from using the bathroom of her choice. In June 2014, she won the case after the Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled 5-1.
In 2015, Nicole and her family were the subject of a book written by Amy Ellis Nutt titled, Becoming Nicole: The Transformation of an American Family. In June 2015, she appeared on the television series Royal Pains, in 2016, she was one of 11 individuals featured in an HBO documentary titled The Trans List.
In June of 2018, Nicole was cast a series regular in The CW series, Supergirl. She portrayed Nia Nal/Dreamer, the first transgender superhero on television. Her likeness has since been implemented in newly published comics. The series wrapped in 2021.
In 2022, she was cast as Liza Davis in the Freeform series, Good Trouble. She is the hardworking boss of Mariana who strives for her all-female team to be the best.
