Daisy Eagan is an American actress. They portrayed Joey Riverton in Freeform's, Good Trouble.

Early Life[]

Daisy Eagan started their early theatre training at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre's Junior School where they had classes in acting, singing, and dancing in the early 1990s. They then went on to star on Broadway in "The Secret Garden" with Mandy Patinkin and Rebecca Luker. They became the youngest recipient to receive the TONY award for featured actress in a musical.

Trivia[]

  • Daisy was thought to be the first cis-gender person[1] to portray a non-binary character in The Fosters and Good Trouble universe. However, they later came out as nonbinary.
    • They were initially concerned that they were overstepping since they hadn’t come out as non-binary yet, and there were openly non-binary actors out there. They spoke with Bradley Bredeweg who assured them that they still viewed Daisy as the best person for the role.[2]
    • Joey's non-binary storyline was not originally part of the characters arc, as the character written as a lesbian.[2]
  • Joey is the first non-binary character to be seen going through the coming out process on network television, which Daisy felt "proud to represent".[3]
  • Daisy won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden.
